Creative Alliance joins forces with Nordisk Film Production

The Danish production company Creative Alliance, which within recent years has developed and produced an international, quality-focused portfolio of feature films and TV projects, now forges an exclusive collaboration with Nordisk Film Production, the production arm of Nordic entertainment company Nordisk Film.

Producer and CEO of Creative Alliance, Malene Blenkov (THE KINDNESS OF STRANGERS, BACKSTABBING FOR BEGINNERS, BRIDGEND), will head up ‘Nordisk Film – Creative Alliance’, a new division within Nordisk Film Production, alongside Creative Alliance’s other owners, screenwriters and directors Ole Christian Madsen (BANSHEE, FLAME & CITRON, SUPERCLÁSICO) and Lone Scherfig (THE KINDNESS OF STRANGERS, THE RIOT CLUB, AN EDUCATION). 

With the new collaboration, Nordisk Film Production further strengthens its ambition of becoming the leading film and series producer in the Nordic countries. Lone Scherfig, Ole Christian Madsen and Malene Blenkov are among the most talented, experienced, and productive filmmakers in Scandinavia.

About Malene Blenkov

Malene Blenkov has produced feature and documentary films and TV series since 1998, many of which have participated at the Berlinale, Cannes, TIFF, Tribeca a.o. She began in the advertising sector in 1991 where she produced successful high-end ads. Thereafter, she became an independent film & tv series producer, producing in London and Copenhagen. She also wrote and directed prizewinning children’s television. Since 2014, Malene Blenkov has been CEO of Creative Alliance, which she owns with screenwriters and directors Lone Scherfig and Ole Christian Madsen.

About Lone Scherfig

Director and screenwriter Lone Scherfig is a co-founder of Creative Alliance. She graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 1984. Since then, she has written and/or directed a variety of TV series and 12 feature films, among them “Italian for Beginners” (2000), “An Education” (2009), “One Day” (2011), ”The Riot Club” (2014), ”The serious Game” (2016), ”Their Finest” (2016) and ”The Kindness of Strangers” (2019). She is currently in post production on a new TV series set in a large, modern hospital and premiering on Danish TV 2 in 2022.

About Ole Christian Madsen

Director and Screenwriter Ole Christian Madsen is a co-founder of Creative Alliance. He graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 1993. He was one of the co-founders of Nimbus Film and has since then written and/or directed ten feature films, among them “Sinan’s Wedding” (1997), Pizza King” (1999), the Dogme 95 film “Kira’s Reason – A Love Story” (2001), ”Angels in Fast Motion” (2005), ”Prague” (2006), ”Flame & Citron” (2008), Oscar shortlisted ”Superclásico” (2011), ”Itsi Bitsi/The Steppenwolf” (2015) and ”The Powder Keg” (2020). Ole Christian Madsen is also an acclaimed director of TV shows, including the series ”Taxi” (1997) and “Unit 1” (2000) as well as the six-part post-war noir “The Spider” (2000). From 2013-2017 he directed and acted as executive producer of the cult show ”Banshee”.
