Nordisk Film Production has hired Helena Danielsson and Deborah Bayer Marlow as producers based in Copenhagen, Denmark. They bring extensive experience and a large network to Nordisk Film Production's ambition to produce major Danish films of international format.
Helena Danielsson is a senior producer with a broad portfolio. She has produced, co-produced and executive produced more than 35 films and TV series, often with a focus on Nordic content. She has worked both independently through her own company, Hepp Film, and in roles within Nordic and international companies as well as SVT. In 2015, she joined the newly established Swedish/US shingle Brain Academy, part of Nice Entertainment Group (MTG/Viaplay Group), as a partner and producer.
In 2021, the company was fully taken over by the owners and became the production company outfit Viaplay Studios. Danielsson's focus was to develop and produce English-language feature films based on strong Nordic IP and talent for an international market. Hepp Film’s titles, as well as Danielsson’s own, have been nominated, shortlisted and awarded at festivals worldwide, including the European Film Academy Award, International Emmy, Academy Awards, American Spirit Awards, EFA Awards, Nordic Film Prize, as well as local national film awards in Sweden and Denmark. Danielsson will take office on January 2, 2025.
Deborah Bayer Marlow is already a well-known and familiar face at Nordisk Film Production. In recent years she has worked as a line producer at Creative Alliance and with Nordisk Film Production, most recently on the award-winning TV series BULLSHIT and THE GIRL WITH THE NEEDLE, which has been nominated in three categories at the European Film Awards and selected as Denmark's entry in the International Feature Film category for the upcoming Academy Awards.
Marlow founded and co-owned the first dedicated international production service company in Denmark in 2001, Marlowfilm Productions, where she managed international budgets as well as line produced international productions with financial support from the Copenhagen Film Fund, engaging studios in Europe and the USA. She has worked on both international and Nordic projects, and brings extensive knowledge of both development, budgeting and production. Marlow has some projects to finnish in her current role and will start her new position on February 1st, 2025.
