The newly established talent initiative has been granted 1 million DKK to support and develop emerging filmmakers from diverse and minority backgrounds in Norway.
“Hver sin Cinema - New Voices” is a 3-year talent program that consists of workshops, pitching and production of own ideas, networking both nationally and internationally, and the making of short films. The program, which is financed in part by Talent Norge, will be led by the acclaimed Norwegian-Kurdish filmmaker Hisham Zaman, an award-winning director and one of the initiative’s founders.
"Nordisk Film Fonden is delighted to back this important initiative that fosters new talents and amplifies diverse voices that will enrich the Nordic film industry,” says Nordisk Film CEO Allan Mathson Hansen on behalf of Nordisk Film Fonden.
Project Manager Åse Svenheim Drivenes appreciates the crucial support from the foundation.
“We are grateful and thrilled about this significant backing from Nordisk Film Fonden. It will help strengthen the program’s mission to elevate bold, diverse voices and bring fresh perspectives to Nordic cinema,” says Åse Svenheim Drivenes.
