This year, one of the greatest and most beloved Danish comedians and actors of our time, known for countless roles in film, television, theatre and revue, would have turned 100. Nordisk Film is celebrating the milestone with a big event in May at the iconic Scene 3 in Valby.

12.03.2026

The big celebration will be hosted by Jacob Wendt Jensen, who has published the book Dirch 100 Years – The Man, the Myth, the Genius. Together with guests who knew Dirch Passer, he will pay tribute to and remember the great actor and comedian. The red carpet will be rolled out, and Dirch Passer’s family and former colleagues are invited to the event.

“Saying yes to hosting Dirch Passer’s 100th birthday celebration didn't even take a split second to consider. I look forward to talking about Dirch Passer and, not least, to getting the many exciting guests to tell cheerful and insightful stories,” says Jacob Wendt Jensen.

In his 416 pages coffee table book, more than 70 friends and colleagues talk about Dirch Passer, and nearly 300 photos and illustrations bring the genius to life in a whole new way.

A Nordisk Film Legend

During his career, Dirch Passer appeared in a number of films produced and filmed by Nordisk Film, which is therefore the obvious setting for the 100th anniversary celebration.

“As the last remaining film studio where Dirch filmed several films, we thought it was only natural that his milestone birthday should be celebrated at the old Nordisk Film studios in Valby. Dirch Passer has meant an incredible amount to Danish film and verité – and not least to an incredible number of people. Dirch is deeply rooted in Danish cultural heritage and the national spirit, and he is naturally someone we want to honour and remember with a 100th birthday celebration,” says Frederik Hougaard Randrup, presenter at Nordisk Film.

Photographer Dorte Passer, who is Dirch Passer’s daughter, is looking forward to the 100th anniversary celebration:

“We are very happy that Nordisk Film wants to honour our father. Dirch has made a big impression on many people, and we are therefore looking forward to celebrating him,” says Dorte Passer.

Plenty of Passer on Nordisk Film+

Nordisk Film+ is also celebrating Dirch Passer’s 100th birthday with a large selection of his timeless classics. On Dirch's birthday, Danes can relive around 50 of his most beloved films on the streaming service – from “Summer in Tyrol” to “The Baroness from the Petrol Station”, “Dust on the Brain” and “Charles’ Aunt”.

“Dirch Passer is and will always be a legend in Danish cinema. His films still touch our hearts – with their charm and humour. We see this clearly at Nordisk Film+, where Dirch's classics are streamed repeatedly. “The Baroness from the Petrol Station” is one of the films our users stream the most,” says Kasper Bent Rasmussen, Head of Consumer Channels at Nordisk Film.
