Design rationale
Nordisk Film’s visual identity draws inspiration from classic movie poster titling, characterised by bold, centred text and a strong typographic hierarchy. Clean, elegant layouts create clarity and balance, allowing our content and storytelling to take centre stage. The system is designed to be simple and recognisable, ensuring a cohesive visual expression across formats and touchpoints.




Layout Principles
As our identity concept is built around layouts, three principles help ensure that every layout reflects our visual style.
Strong contrast — Inspired by classic movie titling, we use clear typography and strong contrast to create impact and clarity. Our typographic system allows titles to scale, creating the right balance with surrounding content.
Scalable titling — Our layouts adapt to the content, with flexible title sizes that help create balance, hierarchy, and emphasis where needed.
Photography-led — We are in the business of images, so photography and stills play a central role. Photos and stills from our stories, products, and people should always take centre stage.
