Summary
In Copenhagen after the First World War, a young factory worker struggles to survive in a society marked by poverty and inequality. When she is left alone and pregnant, desperation drives her to seek help from a woman who runs an underground adoption service. What seems like a lifeline soon turns into something far more unsettling, and she is pulled into a hidden world where the line between right and wrong begins to blur. Now she must decide how far she is willing to go to survive.
